Assistant Coach- Eric Oberding

Coach Oberding enters his 1st year as the assistant coach for the Dayton Heat. Coach Oberding comes with experience after being the Head Coach for five years at Oakwood High School with a career record of 74-59. In his last two seasons, he led the team with an 18-9 and 17-10 record, while advancing to the Sectional championship game in 2007 and 2008. Coach Oberding has had proven success on moving his players to the college level. He was nominated by his peers to coach in the Bob Ross Classic in 2004 and 2007. Coach Oberding was the asst. varsity coach at Fairmont High School the past 2 seasons with back to back 20 win seasons. In 2009, help lead firebirds to a 21 -11 record, District Championship, and Regional runner up's trophy. Coach Oberding continued the success in 2010 with a 20 -10 record and were District runner up. Coach Oberding was influential in leading the pitching staff to the lowest ERA 2.43 in the league.

Coach Oberding graduated from West Carrollton High School where he was a two sport standout lettering 3 years in basketball and baseball. He continued his baseball career at Wright State University as a pitcher. His best season was his junior year where he led the league in saves and appearances. He graduated from Wright State University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education (K-12). He graduated from the University of Dayton in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Coach Oberding resides in Beavercreek with his wife Shannon, son Blake who is 5 years old, and daughter Maya who just turned one.
